Herbal Medicine in Pregnancy: Safe and Effective Formulas for Each Trimester
This focused two-hour course provides a clinically practical overview of safe herbal prescribing during pregnancy. Participants will review foundational physiological changes affecting Spleen Qi, Blood, and Kidney Qi and how these shifts influence trimester-specific symptom presentation.
The first trimester commonly presents with nausea, vomiting, and fatigue. The second and third trimesters may include reflux, constipation, edema, urinary tract infections, and exposure to external pathogens. Emphasis is placed on contraindicated herbs, formula modifications, safe dosing strategies, and when food therapy is preferable to herbal Medicinals.
Special consideration is given to identifying high-risk pregnancies and determining when referral or co-management is appropriate. This course is designed for licensed practitioners seeking clarity and safety in clinical decision-making.

Postpartum Care in TCM: Mother Roasting & the Fourth Trimester
The fourth trimester is a critical yet often under-supported phase of recovery for new mothers. In this clinically focused presentation, Tina Singh explores postpartum care through the lens of Traditional Chinese Medicine, with emphasis on practical tools that acupuncturists can immediately implement in practice.
Participants will learn how to educate postpartum patients on essential self-care strategies rooted in TCM principles, including targeted food therapy and lifestyle guidance. Special focus will be placed on the traditional practice of Mother Roasting and the concept of closing the “birth gate” to support healing, warmth, and recovery after delivery.
The lecture includes a live demonstration featuring Japanese-style gentle needling and the ancient technique of Mother Roasting using moxibustion. Attendees will review key acupuncture points commonly used in postpartum care and understand their clinical functions.
This course provides a valuable, culturally grounded addition to the practitioner’s postpartum toolbox, blending classical wisdom with practical clinical application for modern perinatal care.
Postpartum Pelvic Floor Tune-Up With Acupuncture
Pregnancy and childbirth bring about profound physiological changes, including increased load on the musculoskeletal system, overstretching of pelvic floor muscles, shifts in pelvic alignment, and hormonal fluctuations. Postpartum acupuncture and rehabilitation of the pelvic floor are essential for restoring core stability and reducing the risk of conditions such as urinary frequency, incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, and dyspareunia (pain during intercourse).
This course equips acupuncturists with evidence-based tools for postpartum care, including acupuncture protocols, athletic taping applications, therapeutic breathing strategies, targeted physical therapy exercises, and yoga-based interventions. These techniques not only optimize recovery for postpartum patients but can also be applied to perimenopausal populations experiencing similar pelvic floor challenges.
Acupuncturists will leave with actionable strategies to enhance patient outcomes and integrate pelvic floor acupuncture into routine care.

From Broken to Balanced: Using Systems Thinking to Bridge Eastern and Western Perinatal Care
This presentation reveals the essential ‘why’—why integration fails despite one’s best efforts. Using systems thinking, participants will discover the invisible architecture that governs whether Eastern and Western perinatal care can achieve true collaboration or remain separated.
Through interactive discussion and perinatal-specific examples, attendees will learn to identify a system’s features, surprises, and traps that keep them marginalized, recognize why some integration efforts thrive while others fail, and find leverage points for sustainable change. This foundational understanding provides the lens through which integration efforts can succeed rather than simply repeat familiar patterns.

Demystifying the Pelvic Floor for Perinatal Approaches
The pelvic floor is one of the most important yet least understood regions of the body. Too often, it is overlooked in training programs and left out of treatment strategies—despite its central role in core stability, continence, sexual health, and perinatal recovery. This presentation will shine light on the pelvic floor by blending lecture and live demonstration to demystify this complex area and show how approachable this area is. You’ll learn common perinatal conditions linked to pelvic floor dysfunction, understand the underlying anatomy, and see how the anatomy is located, palpated, and needled. This will be a truly eye-opening experience!
Normalizing Birth in a High-Risk System: The Role of the Modern Midwife
Join midwife Allison Tartari as she explores how midwives support women navigating birth in a high-risk, hospital-centered system. This session highlights collaborative care with perinatal specialists, individualized birth planning, and evidence-based strategies to normalize labor and birth. Learn how midwives partner with acupuncturists, doulas, pelvic floor therapists, and other practitioners to empower women through pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period.

Perinatal Acupuncture: Reflection, Connection & Future Growth
Perinatal acupuncture is evolving, and staying connected and informed is essential for advancing the field. This session gives practitioners time to reflect on key conference insights, strengthen professional relationships, and identify future educational needs.
We’ll review highlights from expert speakers, including clinical strategies, research updates, and emerging trends, followed by guided discussion and Q&A for deeper understanding.
Attendees will also explore ways to build lasting professional networks that support collaboration, mentorship, and improved patient outcomes. Finally, we’ll identify gaps in perinatal acupuncture education and discuss priority topics and training needed to move the profession forward together.

Thank you thank you! If there is one thing I could request it would be to have a document/handout of all the ways their partner can help.
